The Organ Gang - the "lost episode"
'Pain In The Neck' was originally scheduled as the penultimate episode of 'The Organ Gang', a "poorly animated cartoon series" which formed part of BBC2's This Morning With Richard Not Judy in 1998.
Due to time and budget constraints this particular episode - the only one to feature 'Phillip Thyroid' - was never made (although a comic strip version of it ended up in a Lee & Herring tour programme later that year).
So, using a tape of the original Brian Cant narration session, a CD of Richard Thomas' music (not to mention an unused credit song) and something approaching 'proper' animation, here is that lost episode.

A feature from the Jerry Springer: The Opera DVD. Writers Richard Thomas and Stewart Lee talk about the beginnings of the show, and explain a few of the songs.
Please note that since the release of this DVD in 2005, a UK tour did go ahead. The lack of Arts Council Funding meant that the effects, set and chorus had to be scaled down. The Christian Voice protests continued, which unfortunately lead to nine venues pulling out. However, the tour ran for 22 weeks, reviews continued to be very positive, and ticket sales were very good, all across the country. The show has gone on to be a huge success in America, receiving rave reviews in Chicago, Memphis and Minneapolis, and more are planned for Washington DC and Iowa.
