After his release from prison for a violent outburst Tonny (Ulrich Thomsen) manages to convince the authorities he is reformed and wins visitation rights with his kids. Planning on taking them to the latest Harry Potter film, he discovers the movie has sold-out instead buying tickets to the latest movie from celebrated director Claus Volter (Nikolaj Lie Kaas); a film the lobby poster hails as a masterpiece. However, before long the movie has Tonny's kids in tears and he leaves demanding his money back. A demand that is blankly refused and which leaves the cinema foyer trashed after Tonny's temper explodes. Narrowly avoiding a return to gaol, Tonny decides to go straight to the film's director for his refund. But when an accident on the set of Volter's new film leaves Tonny injured, he decides to blackmail the precocious filmmaker and hires himself as co-writer and co-director to begin Volter's education on what a masterpiece should be. Actores: Ulrich Thomsen (Michael), Connie Nielsen (Sara, su mujer), Nikolaj Lie Kaas (Jannik, hermano de Michael), Bent Mejding (Henning, padre de Michael y Jannik), Solbjørg Højfeldt (Else, madre de Michael y Jannik). Jannik, la oveja negra de la familia acaba de cumplir su condena por haber agredido brutalmente a una empleada del banco. Su hermano mayor, Michael va a buscarlo a la prisión cuando éste sale. En muchos aspectos se puede considerar una revisión del mito de Caín y Abel. Susanne Bier es una de las directoras de cine más conocidas fuera de Dinamarca. Sus películas han sido casi siempre un gran éxito de taquilla, y aunque no siempre haya tenido críticas favorables, sería injusto tratarla como una directora de cine comercial, ya que los planteamientos de sus películas son muy interesantes.
