Disco Godfather (trailer)
Rudy Ray Moore is back in another Cliff Roquemore scripted blaxploit flick...this time as an ex-cop martial arts expert disco deejay! "Disco Godfather" is a crazy combination of "Reefer Madness" and "Saturday Night Fever", with some laughable "Dolemite" style fake kung-fu action scenes thrown in just for good measure. I'm happy to report the resulting movie is just as ridiculous as it sounds. Fans of cheesy 70's blaxsploitation, disco-themed movies, and of Rudy Ray Moore's wacky one-liners and utterly outlandish wardrobe will definitely not be disappointed. All other jive-ass honkies need not apply.

Dolemite himself, the "king of party records" and "godfather of hip-hop" as seen in a 1996 interview for the cult NYC cable-access show "Media Funhouse." The talk, conducted at the Chiller Theatre convention in New Jersey, found Rudy Ray talking about his "uncensored" standup act, his radically "dirty" LPs, and his amazing work as a mega-low-budget producer/co-scripter/star of a series of comedy action vehicles, beginning with "Dolemite" (1975) and ending with the mind-bending "Avenging Disco Godfather" (1980--we're not counting "Monkey Hustle," since that had a mainstream budget).

Make of this as you please...
This is me in two places. I get really nervous when I try something for the first time and I'm always trying to see how far I can push a crowd. It's sort of my silly little way of making sure I do comedy for me. I don't know how to explain it, it just is what it is. Anyhow...basically, I'm screwin' off. And then there's the poetry...
I love the shit outta doin' poetry on stage at the comedy clubs. First there's me reading from a book and then there's me doing a Rudy Ray Moore poem called Lolita. I did it from memory and was sweating balls. This is the video of me losing my cherry. I hope you dig it.
