Reading Rainbow - Levar Hip Hop Dances and Raps
Now I love Reading Rainbow, especially the dance and song segments, but this has to be one of Reading Rainbow's lowest moments. Levar and a crew dance to some early 90's music and also rap. Then in the final segment they dance to a remix of the Reading Rainbow theme while the credits roll. All this while wearing Reeboks and Cross Colours clothing. This is taken from the 1992 episode "Sophie and Lou". Reading Rainbow is hosted by Levar Burton of "Roots" and "Star Trek: The Next Generation" fame. It first began in the 80's and continues to run on PBS affiliates and in schools around the country encouraging kids to read. Sesame Street and Mister Roger's Neighborhood are the only childrens shows to run longer on public television.

Reading Rainbow: Levar Whitewater Rafting in Africa
Levar nearly drowns while whitewater rafting down the dangerous Zambezi River in the heart of Africa. He and a group of people were the first to attempt to raft down 85 miles of the river's rapids. This was filmed by ABC's "Wide World of Sports". This classic segment is from the espisode "Three Days on a River... Red Canoe" during the first season of Reading Rainbow in 1983.
Reading Rainbow is hosted by Levar Burton of Roots and Star Trek: The Next Generation fame. It still continues to run on PBS affiliates and in schools around the country encouraging kids to read books. Harry Blackstone Jr. performs for an audience by hypnotizing and cutting Levar in half in a vintage clip. This aired on the episode "Miss Nelson is Back" during the first season in 1983. His father Harry Blackstone Sr. was also a famous magician. Sadly Harry Jr. passed away in 1997.
