The Old Maid and the Thief, Act 1, Scene 1

My BUTI opera scene! The Boston University Tanglewood Institute is this really awesome summer program for high school students, where you basically get to go to conservatory for 6 weeks. This is from the opera scene performance at the end of the vocal program.
Miss Todd- Francesca di Domenico
Miss Pinkerton- Maureen Cossey
Letitia- Taylor Visoski
Bob- Ben Shaver

The Old Maid and the Thief is a one-act opera by Gian Carlo Menotti. It was originally written for NBC radio. Miss Todd (black hair, white shirt) is this old woman whose lover left her 40 years ago and hasn't had any action since. Miss Pinkerton
(blonde hair), another manless old woman, comes to tea at Miss Todd's house, but they don't really like each other, so it's pretty uncomfortable. A really hot bum knocks on the door, so Miss Todd and Letitia(short black hair), her maid, kick Miss Pinkerton out and drool over Bob the hot bum. That's where the scene ends. Eventually they find out that Bob is an escaped thief, and a lot of random stuff happens. In the end Letitia and Bob run off with Miss Todd's stuff.

Then, production moved to Boston to film the key Harvard scenes at the prestigious Sanders Theatre in Memorial Hall as well as turning the Wang Theater's foyer into South Station circa 1935. Monday, July 23, 2007, was the last day of filming.
