Street Fight Trailer

Academy Award nominated documentary, "Street Fight", follows the bloody-knuckles race for mayor of Newark, N.J. between 32-year-old Cory Booker and four-term incumbent, Sharpe James. An urban David and Goliath story, the film chronicles the young man's struggle against the city's entrenched political machine, which routinely uses strong-arm tactics to hold onto power. The battle sheds light on important questions about democracy, power, poverty and race. When the mayor accuses the Ivy League-educated challenger of not being "really black," the campaign forces voters to examine how we define race in America. Directed by Marshall Curry. Tancredo Press Conference - Newark, NJ (Part 1 - Protesters)

On Monday, August 20th, 2007, Congressman Tancredo - along with others - participated in a press conference in Newark, NJ. This press conference was a direct challenge to Newark's sanctuary city policy, which ultimately led to the execution-style deaths of 3 young people and a 4th badly injured, carried out by an illegal immigrant who has a long history of crimes, arrests and court appearances. Mayor Cory Booker and the city of Newark are ultimately culpable in this event.

This first video is Part 1 in a three part series. I recorded protesters, in front of Newark City Hall, leading up to the press conference. The protesters belong to a communist organization and spewed hateful words, even threatening the life of Congressman Tancredo.

Make sure to watch Part 2 and Part 3 too - which I also recorded - for the actual speech of Congressman Tancredo and the question and answer time with the press.

------------
Speakers / participants for the actual press conference included, but are not limited to:

- Rosemary Jenks, Director of Government Relations, from NumbersUSA

- Michael W. Cutler, Fellow, from the Center for Immigration Studies

Tancredo Press Conference - Newark, NJ (Part 3 - Q&A)

This second video is Part 3 in a three part series. I recorded the question and answer time myself, between Congressman Tancredo and the press, in front of Newark City Hall. The protesters can still be heard in the background. They belong to a communist organization and spewed hateful words, even threatening the life of Congressman Tancredo.
