Jim Morrison: Last 1971 Rolling Stone Interview p.3 of 8

In 1971, Morrison gave Rolling Stone his final U.S. interview.(Thanks to Ghostryder1967 for Blessing me w\this "Jim")
Ben Fong Torres Quote:
"Working for Rolling Stone, I used to pop into Hollywood on a regular basis. Sometimes I stayed at the apartment of a rock publicist friend, Diane. One of her neighbors was Pamela Courson-Jim Morrison's old lady. One Feb. afternoon in 1971, Jim came around, looking for Pamela. She wasn't there, so he decided to hang out & wait.

When Diane introduced us, I asked for an interview. He and I hit it off right away, and got into doing this parody of a TV talk show. I played Dick Cavett; he was a rock star.
He told a couple of jokes so risque that they would have gotten Cavett canned, and then, with my cheap cassette recorder running, we settled into a pretty serious chat about the Doors and the blues; the future of rock, and his own future.

Despite his reputation as a wild man; despite his busts for obscenity and for exposing himself on stage, Morrison had struck me, in published interviews, as a smart, thougthful guy. Maybe he wasn't quite the poet and artieste he fancied himself to be, but at least he was playing with the conventions of rock, performance, and theatre. He was at home on the edge.

Jim was planning to move to paris within weeks, and this turned out to be his last interview before his departure in March. In July, I was in Hollywood again visiting with his friends and associates, and writing his obiturary".

"I think there's a certain moment when you're right in time with your audience, and then you both grow out of it and you both have to realize it," Morrison told Rolling Stone. "It's not that you've outgrown your audience; it has to go on to something else."

First song is...

"Touch Me" By The Doors

Yeah!, come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Cant you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why wont you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
Now, Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Cant you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why wont you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?
Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I
Im gonna love you, till the heavens stop the rain
Im gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I

Second song on the Video is...

"Love Her Madly" By The Doors

Don't ya love her madly
Don't ya need her badly
Don't ya love her ways
Tell me what you say

Don't ya love her madly
Wanna be her daddy
Don't ya love her face
Don't ya love her as she's walkin' out the door
Like she did one thousand times before

Don't ya love her ways
Tell me what you say
Don't ya love her as she's walkin' out the door

All your love
All your love
All your love
All your love

All your love is gone
So sing a lonely song
Of a deep blue dream
Seven horses seem to be on the mark

Yeah, don't you love her
Don't you love her as she's walkin' out the door

All your love
All your love
All your love

Yeah, all your love is gone
So sing a lonely song
Of a deep blue dream
Seven horses seem to be on the mark

Well, don't ya love her madly
Don't ya love her madly
Don't ya love her madly

Jim Morrison: As I look Back: Albinoni's Adagio In G Minor

A great synopsis of Jim's life in his own words.Jim Morrison: As I look Back from The Lost Writings Wilderness Vol. 1 set to Albinoni's Adagio In G Minor by The Doors. (Without a Safety net)

As I look back
over my life
I am struck by post
cards
Ruined Snap shots

faded posters
Of a time, I can't recall

I am a Scot, or so
I'm told. Really
the heir of Mystery
Christians

Snake in the Glen

The child of a
Military family...

I rebelled against church
after phases of
fervor

I curried favor in school
& attack'd the teachers

I was given a
desk in the corner

I was a fool
&
The smartest kid
in class

Walks in D.C. in
Negro streets. The library
& book stores. Orange
brick in warm sun.
The books & poets magic

Then sex gives greater stimulation
Than you've ever known &
all peace & books lose their
charm & you are thrown
back on the eye of vision

History of Rock
coinciding w/my
adolescence

Came to LA to
Film School

Venice Summer

Drug Visions

Roof top songs

early struggles &
humiliations

Thanks to the girls
who fed me.

Making Records

Elvis had sex-wise
mature voice at 19.

Mine still retains the
nasal whine of a
repressed adolescent
minor squeaks & furies
An interesting singer
at best-a scream
or a sick croon. Nothing
in-between.

Road Days

fear of Plane death

And night was what Night
should be
A girl, a bottle, & blessed sleep

I have ploughed
My seed thru the heart
of the nation.
Injected a germ in the psychic blood vein.

Now I embrace the poetry
of business & become-for
a time-a "Prince of Industry"

A natural leader, a poet,
a Shaman, w/the
soul of a clown.

What am I doing
in the Bull Ring
Arena
Every public figure
running for Leader

Spectators at the Tomb
-riot watchers

Fear of Eyes
Assassination

Being drunk is a good disguise.

I drink so I
can talk to assholes.
This includes me.

The horror of business

The Problem of Money
guilt
do I deserve it?

The Meeting
Rid of Managers & agents

After 4 yrs. I'm left w/a
mind like a fuzzy hammer

regret for wasted nights
& wasted years
I pissed it all away
American Music

End w/fond good-bye
& plans for future
-Not an actor
Writer-filmmaker

Which of my cellves
will be remember'd

Good-bye America
I loved you

Money form home
good luck
stay out of trouble

JIM MORRISON --- THE AMERICAN NIGHT

THE NEW ``THE AMERICAN NIGHT ``
You can read the complete poem in the book "wilderness, the lost writings of jim morrison". (page 146)
I only took some parts of this poem that fit in the music and created a new poem...

The american night.

The silk handkerchief was
embroidered in China or Japan
behind the steel curtain And
no one can cross the borderline
w/out proper credentials.

The cellular excitement has
Totally inspired our magic
Veteran.
The land might end & all our friends
would follow another program.
Who are our friends ?

Underwaterfall...

There are
continents & shores which
beseech our understanding.

And this morning before I sign off,
Like a calm veteran
of the psychic war,
i want the old forms to
reassert their sexual cool.

My only wish is to see
Far Arden again.

Underwaterfall...

He was only a man & his
dedication extended to the last
degree. Poor pretentious soldier,
come home

Come home...

Jim Morrison & Pamela Courson : My Immortal by Evanescence.

For Pamela Susan: Jim & Pamela Morrison: My Immortal by Evanescence

My Immortal
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

Jim Morrison (The Doors) gets arrested in Miami 1969

During a 1969 concert at The Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami, Morrison attempted to spark a riot in the audience. He failed, but a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Dade County Police department three days later for indecent exposure. By this time the band was on vacation in Jamaica. Eventually, Morrison was convicted of indecent exposure and public profanity. Consequently, many of The Doors' scheduled concerts were canceled.

Jim Morrison: Trouble by Elvis Presley

Slideshow of Jim Morrison set to Trouble by Elvis.

If you're looking for trouble
You came to the right place
If you're looking for trouble
Just look right in my face
I was born standing up
And talking back
My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack
Because i'm evil, my middle name is misery
Well i'm evil, so don't you mess around with me

I've never looked for trouble
But i've never ran
I don't take no orders
From no kind of man
I'm only made out
Of flesh, blood and bone
But if you're gonna start a rumble
Don't you try it on alone
Because i'm evil, my middle name is misery
Well i'm evil, so don't you mess around with me
I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be
I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be
So don't mess around don't mess around don't mess around with me
I'm evil, i'm evil, evil, evil
So don't mess around, don't mess around with me
I'm evil, i tell you i'm evil
So don't mess around with me
Yeah!
