Writer/Director Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption," "The Green Mile," "The Mist") talks with Marcus Leshock about his initial draft of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Darabont was brought on to write the script, but was mysteriously pulled off the project.
He talks about what happened between Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, how close his version might be to the version written by David Koepp, and how he interpreted the Indiana Jones character.

Frequent Stephen King collaborator Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) teams with the celebrated horror author once again for this tale of a terror based on a story originally published in King's 1985 horror anthology Skeleton Crew, and concerning a small town engulfed by a malevolent mist. When a thick fog descends upon a typical suburban community and claims the lives of anyone unfortunate enough to be caught outside, a small band of survivors seeks refuge in a local grocery store. Now trapped in a darkened cloud of pure horror, the frightened denizens of the town are forced to fend off an advancing horde of murderous monsters. 4/11/92 Behind the Scenes Music Video of The Dead Beat III
I was recuited by a friend of mine, Lee "Rod" Roderick, to be the sound engineer on the production of The Dead Beat III, a series of video interviews with those that work in the horror film industry. We drove from the San Francisco Bay Area to the L.A. Basin to conduct these interviews over a weekend. I brought along a little camera and just did some taping between interviews. Notice that we taped in the house that Rainman was filmed in towards the end of the movie when Tom Cruise moves Dustin Hoffman to California. Also, you may recognize Frank Darabont, the now infamous director of The Shawshank Redemption. This trip was a lot of fun despite the little sleep and the constant trips to different locations, set-ups, tear-downs, fast food, and little sleep! Oh, and the best part of all... Frank took us all out to dinner on the last night we were there, to a big-table italian restuarant. The place was closed and we entered through the kitchen and were served like kings! It was great... pizza, pasta, anti-pasta, salad, bread. What a way to wrap up a production! The unique thing about this video is that I had no effects generator to produce the strobing (the stuttering, stop-frame look) effect. I would edit each frame one by one using stills from the source video. Very time consuming, much like stop frame animation. The music is by a band called Cracker.
