Beckham "disappointed" with LA Galaxy
Hello! I'm Kristin Volk in for Rebecca Field with a UPI Entertainment Headline on this Friday, October 26, 2007.
Soccer star David Beckham says he's incredibly disappointed that the Los Angeles Galaxy didn't make the playoffs. Beckham, who plays for the team, opened up in his blog. He added that the team will come back stronger next season. Beckham was sidelined by an injury for much of the season.
Actor Owen Wilson is speaking out for the first time since his apparent suicide attempt. Longtime friend and director Wes Anderson interviewed Wilson as part of the MySpace Artist on Artist series. Since the incident in August, Wilson has asked for privacy.
Paris Hilton's reported philanthropic trip to Rwanda has been postponed. The foundation organizing the visit says they have to reschedule due to restructuring. Hilton announced her trip to Rwanda last month. That country was a scene of genocide in 1994. The hotel heiress says there's a lot of need in that area and she hopes her visit will bring more attention to what people can do to help.
Lindsay Lohan's mom is getting ready to start filming her new reality show. The untitled E reality series will primarily star Dina Lohan and her singer-actress daughter, Ali. The first shoots will happen in New York City and Long Island, New York. Dina says she wants the show to empower single mothers by sheding light on her own life as a working mom. Filming is set to begin October 30.
Celebrities were buzzing about at last night's premiere of "Bee Movie" in New York. Actress Renee Zellweger and co-star Jerry Seinfeld showed up at the AMC Lincoln Square theater. Seinfeld voices the character of Barry Benson, a bee that discovers humans actually make money from their honey. Actor Chris Rock was there too, smiles and all.
