Lovely re-release, January 14, 2003
This is a marvelous re-release of some of John Barry's loveliest work.
I cannot recomend this more highly, even if you have the original score this version is clearer and has many pieces that were not on the original release!
The music is well orchestrated and just beautiful and the solo pianist is marvelous!
Get this, get this, get this!

A beautiful recording
When I first got this CD I wasn't sure if I liked it as well as the original soundtrack recording. Some of the pieces were edited for the soundtrack so sometimes it was a little...

Reading music :)
I recommend "Somewhere in time" to anyone who enjoys listening to relaxing music, particularly for reading.
EVA E. Vaughn

Please, Mr. Barry, I Want Some More!
There is no doubt that the soundtrack of Somewhere in Time contains some of the most beautiful music on Earth - thanks in great part to Rachmaninoff.
E. M. Gregg

A Big Fan
I have enjoyed the music from this movie since it came out. After not hearing the CD for years I came across it again and have been so pleased with the music.
Julie Cook

Beautiful Music, Blooper In Text On Jewel Case
I bought a 20th anniversary DVD copy of this movie last weekend, and just bought this CD today. It plays the soundtrack as beautiful as it was played kin the film.
Eric Pregosin

Somewhere in Time
Hauntingly beautiful music. If you loved the movie, the CD brings it all back without the picture. So, you can listen at work, or in the car, and visually transport yourself back...
Kathy W

Great movie - great score (even if you did not see the movie)
Soothing music - calming and serine. This is one of the best I have - it's perfect ambient music even if you did not see the movie. http://www.johndebney.com/

John Debney The Passion of the Christ Oratorio Movement 5 "A

Here is a dramatic montage created for the "Agnus Dei" of movement 5 of the "Passion...Oratorio." This is archival footage presented in a dramatic way to give the viewer a brief glimpse of the multi media experience of the Passion Oratorio. It is intended as a tribute to those performers who make the music from the Passion an ongoing experience touching people of all backgrounds and faiths. The Oratorio is in seven movements intended as a work of "healing" helping to foster "A turning back to God..." This rough hand held video from the concert premiere in Rome is married to images from the great masterworks of art as well as from our world today. The Oratorio speaks of the universal ideals of Love, Mercy, Forgiveness and Faith. It is a non-commercial video and is loosely synced and not intended to represent the performance but rather give an idea of the experience.

Spider-Man 2 with Danny Elfman's Original Score (Part IX)

Another « minor » change. As soon as Spider-Man appears, the final cut uses Elfman's original score but before that, what we get is John Debney writing a very over-the-top music for Peter trying to deliver his pizzas in time. Sam Raimi (or Sony) wanted something heroic for these images which Elfman refused to (re)write. We can hear that the composer went for a much more fitting approach, letting the traffic's sound effects (missing here) creating the tension.
I can understand Raimi/Sony's intentions but I'm not sure that what John Debney wrote is cleverer.

More to come.
