The Johnston Brothers, fresh off a Nashville trip, perform 3 originals:

"Pickin' Grass".
After having played in Nashville at The Bull Pen Lounge (Kurt and Wayne)in 1982, the band returned to compete in the Wrangler Country Showdown at The Grand Ole Opry and took first runner up Nationally with this medly,in 1984.

as manager, promoter, mentor,etc.
without whose help the daily planning for the group would have been a lot more difficult to administer.
This, their 3rd independent single release
on "Hidden Valley Records"
(their own record label) got the J.B.'s nominated "Group of the Year."
They were performers at the Independent Record Industry Awards Show. The televised
presentation was held at The Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel Ballroom in Nashville. The song went to #8 on the independent charts and made Cashbox and Billboard Hot 100.
