SCTV -Second City Television PyramidPower & Beside The Point
Remember Pyramid Power? Just another weird 1970's sensationalism from the "sensational seventies" (like Evil Knievel) John Candy plays Orson Welles, a satire of his "Chariots of the God" and some mysteries show he also hosted.
The 'Beside The Point' is one my favorite early SCTV skits.
Note John Candy, Eugene Levy, Harold Ramis, Dave Thomas, and the underrated Joseph O'Flaherty in this Pythonesque panel show skit.
Interestingly, how back then the Mid East issue was such a big deal!
It seemed all the turmoil, terrorism and what not involved Israel and land issues.
Those were the days eh? But that's beside the point...
I saw this show from its beginning!
Back in Toronto 1977 & 1978! it was on Global TV originally.
