By the end of the show Louis and Chris have become good friends and the whole show has the feel of a buddy-movie. After watching him with nazis and religious fundamentalists, this show comes as a welcome break. Good fun all round.

Gary Lineker (Leicester, 1960) esordì nel calcio a soli 16 anni con il Leicester City, ma raggiunge la fama passando all'Everton, compagine con la quale segnò 30 gol in 31 partite. Per ottenere il successo in competizioni di prestigio europeo accettò l'ingaggio del Barcellona, e con la squadra catalana vinse la Coppa delle Coppe nel 1989.
Tornò in Inghilterra alla vigilia dei mondiali 1990, nel Tottenham Hotspur. Con la maglia degli Spurs realizzò complessivamente 70 gol in 107 partite e vinse la Coppa d'Inghilterra nel 1991. Ha concluso la sua inimitabile carriera sportiva in Giappone con la maglia del Nogoya Grampus Eight nel 1994, a seguito di un serio infortunio.
Gary Lineker è il secondo miglior realizzatore di sempre con la maglia dell'Inghilterra con 48 reti, soltanto una in meno del mitico Bobby Charlton. Ha avuto l'opportunità di eguagliare tale primato nel match contro il Brasile del 1992, sua ultima apparizione con la maglia della nazionale inglese, ma il suo calcio di rigore venne sventato dall'estremo difensore sudamericano Taffarel.
Ha preso parte a due edizioni del campionato del mondo, ed è a tutt'oggi il miglior realizzatore inglese di tutti i tempi nelle fasi finali della Coppa del Mondo con 10 gol: 6 realizzati a Messico 1986, e 4 a Italia 1990. È 7° nella classifica dei migliori marcatori di tutti i tempi nei Campionati del Mondo. E' il calciatore che ha segnato il maggior numero di triplette con la nazionale ingelese, ben cinque, e l'unico (assieme al russo Salendo) ad aver realizzato quattro reti in una sola partita con la maglia della nazionale. E nell'impresa si è ripetuto per ben due volte, contro la Spagna e poi contro la Malesia.
Malgrado la sua lunga attività agonistica e il gran numero di partite disputate, Lineker non ha mai ricevuto neppure una ammonizione. Questo incredibile dato testimonia in modo indiscutibile la sua estrema signorilità in campo e la sua grande sportività. Sono queste doti umane, unite all'eleganza, alla tecnica, alla rapidità di esecuzione, alla imprevedibilità e alla freddezza delle sue giocate sotto porta ad aver reso questo calciatore un idolo di tutti gli amanti del calcio.
