Dade Murphy aka Zero Cool aka Crash Override (Jonny Lee Miller) is a famous hacker. When his parents divorce, he moves with his mom to NY. There he becomes friends with other hackers at school. From the beginning there's rivalry between him and Kate Libby aka Acid Burn (Angelina Jolie). They start a competition about who's better with computers. However, when someone launches a virus and blames them, they have to form a team and work together to stop the bad guy.
