Men of all ages wore basic black and white last night at the Oscars. The biggest decision was bowtie or long tie, unless we're talking about Mickey Rourke who stood out in his bright white suit, proving once again he is doing things his way. Brad added more facial hair, upgrading his mustache to full-on goatee. Robert Downey Jr. was clean-shaven and looking adorably young.

The younger crowd mixed up their hairstyles where Zac slicked his back while Robert Pattinson went spiky. They both kept a straight face while James Franco and Dev Patel were all smiles. Many of these men had their beautiful girlfriends or wives by their side, which could explain some of their big grins. The ladies may steal the show year after year, but the Oscars wouldn't be the same without a little manjoyment out on the red carpet.

Charlize Theron joined forces with Diane Lane and Josh Brolin in LA on Thursday night for the launch of the BRANDAID Foundation, which will send money to support Haitian artists. Current Oscar nominee Josh struck a few poses with past winner Charlize, while two of the Best Supporting Actress Nominees, Taraji P. Henson and Marisa Tomei, posed for photos and made their way around the room. We're sure to see lots more of Marisa, Taraji and Josh as the weekend's award festivities continue, but hopefully Charlize will also show up on another red carpet in one of her signature knockout gowns.

The 2009 Oscar nominees got to mix and mingle with their competition at the annual luncheon thrown in their honor in Beverly Hills earlier today. Brad and Angelina sat this one out, but Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., and lots of others were happy to come out and pose in front of the the big golden statue. Anne Hathaway revealed that her big date to the event will be her dad, and she is even hoping to score extra tickets for her mother and brother. In just a few weeks this group will be separated into winners and those who are just happy to be nominated, but for now they all seem to be enjoying the honor of being recognized for their hard work.

This weekend award season kept on rolling and this time it was all about the directors. Slumdog Millionaire continued its winning streak as Danny Boyle received the night's top honor for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film at the Directors Guild Awards in LA. This honor helps the movie secure its Oscar worthy odds in a few weeks. Claire Danes brought Hugh Dancy with her to present an award to The Office's Paul Feig while past nominee Sean Penn also took the stage to share a few words. Other presenters included Christian Bale and Josh Brolin who both looked great in their suits among the rest of the all-stars out to support the people who direct their talent behind-the-scenes.

Last night the 2008 National Board of Review Awards Gala was held at Cipriani's in NYC and once again the ladies were dressed to impress. Sexy Salma continues her fabulous fashion streak and Naomi Watts looks like a million bucks after baby. Anne Hathaway scored another award for Best Actress for Rachel Getting Married while Josh Brolin took home one for Milk. Slumdog was another big winner with Best Film and Dev Patel for Breakthrough Performance by an Actor. A lot of the faces remain the same but we're loving award season so far.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival kicked off last night with their awards gala attended by some of the most acclaimed stars of the year. They screened Dustin Hoffman's new movie Last Chance Harvey and honored Hoffman, Sean Penn, and the cast of Revolutionary Road among others. Thankfully a sun-kissed from Cabo, Leo made the trek to represent his movie. Dakota Fanning looked absolutely lovely and grown up in blue while Anne Hathaway traded in her dramatic hair and pantsuit for a LBD. As if LA isn't full of enough star power, it's only about to get brighter over the next few nights of award shows starting with last night's red carpet beauties.
