Baby Blue's Latest News

Last night the legendary screen actor and philanthropist passed away at the age of 83. Paul was surrounded by friends and family when he passed at his home in Westport, CT after battling cancer. Little details were released by his publicist just as his illness was kept under the radar since suspicions rose earlier this year. He was survived by his wife of 50 years, actress Joanne Woodward and their five daughter and grandchildren.

Paul was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and directed and stared in films including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Road to Perdition. Paul won his first Oscar with The Color of Money as well as two additional honorary awards. He was one of the most charitable men in Hollywood with his food empire, Newmans Own and as a co-founder of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a summer camp for seriously ill children.

As well as one of the most giving, he was also arguably the coolest man in Hollywood who raced cars and flashes those baby blue eyes. He remained married to his longtime sweatheart for over 50 years and stayed away from the Hollywood scene. He will be greatly missed.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz left their furry baby Rigby at home and headed into a doctor's appointment in LA yesterday. Ash seems to be in the mood to match her maxi dress to her hair in orange again. Seriously though, between his glasses and her wayfarers, could their eyewear be any more hipster? The tattoo loving couple has many months to go before their new addition, but rumor has it that they were seen shopping for lots of blue baby things. Of course, the news comes from Petit Tresor so take it with a grain of salt — plus, when it comes to unconventional Pete and Ashlee I'd say that nursery color doesn't necessarily mean we know we're expecting a boy.

Jessica may have been all about blue yesterday but soon we'll be seeing lots of pink when her daughter is born this June. The mom-to-be has been named one of the best dressed celebrities according to Glamour UK and thanks to Fab we can dress just like Alba now! Jessica isn't letting her pregnancy get in the way of looking cute or running errands. She was spotted leaving a rug store — perhaps finishing up final details for the nursery.

What's that about not being a paparazzi draw anymore? Britney Spears brought out quite the mob on her way out of the Tracey Ross boutique in LA yesterday afternoon. While Jamie Lynn's choice of baby toys seems to hint that she's expecting a girl, Britney looked pretty cute in her baby blue. Hopefully she treated herself with some nice new things — we were certainly celebrating for her yesterday when we heard the great news that she's reunited with her former manager, Larry Rudolph. Good news all around, and hey, at this point I'm even used to the hair.

Christina Aguilera looked very happy in her short sassy maternity dress after dinner in LA with Jordan on Friday night. As her due date inches closer these two have been making lots of preparations for their new arrival, and the fun continued this weekend with a baby shower for Christina. Apparently, the party was blue-themed and was the first of three showers that have been planned for the popstar mommy-to-be. While we know that the color blue doesn't definitely mean she's expecting a little boy, it sure helps fuel those rumors that little Jordan Jr. might be on his way.
