LOS ANGELES — James Cromwell was injured in a fall from his bicycle over the weekend and was expected to be released from a hospital Monday, his publicist said. Cromwell, 68, suffered a broken collarbone and a partially deflated lung, according to a statement released Monday by publicist Nancy Seltzer.

Jack Bauer may be everywhere at once. But he had to start somewhere, right?
We're finally going to get a clue as to where that might have been. "Six Feet Under" and "L.A. Confidential" actor James Cromwell has joined the cast of "24" in a recurring role as Jack's estranged father, Phillip Bauer.
Which makes him Jack's estranged daughter's grandfather. The terrorist-fighting apple doesn't seem to have fallen far from the tree. (Although "estranged" is certainly better than what's happened to a number of Jack's other friends and loved ones over the past five years.)
