The women at the Independent Spirit Awards looked beautiful but kept things more casual with their shorter dresses for the afternoon event. Anne Hathaway shined in her off-white dress with feminine details as many other actresses showed off their flirty styles. Cameron Diaz rocked the stripes, as did Michelle Williams in her sleeveless dress with pockets. Mary-Kate stood out with her shoulder pads and long sleeves and the award-winning Penelope Cruz - who had a run in with ex Tom Cruise the night before - look perfect in a frilly hemmed brown dress.
Meanwhile, the men ranged from jeans to suits, but still looked handsome as usual. James Franco didn't manage to shave for the event but wore his pinstripes proudly. Aaron Eckhart, Emile Hirsch and Blair Underwood sported the denim look while Mickey Rourke had fun running around the blue carpet chatting with everyone. Make sure to check out all of Buzz, Fab and Bella's coverage of an event that many of Hollywood's finest came out to see.

This weekend award season kept on rolling and this time it was all about the directors. Slumdog Millionaire continued its winning streak as Danny Boyle received the night's top honor for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film at the Directors Guild Awards in LA. This honor helps the movie secure its Oscar worthy odds in a few weeks. Claire Danes brought Hugh Dancy with her to present an award to The Office'sPaul Feig while past nominee Sean Penn also took the stage to share a few words. Other presenters included Christian Bale and Josh Brolin who both looked great in their suits among the rest of the all-stars out to support the people who direct their talent behind-the-scenes.
Sienna Miller has been racking up the frequent flier miles lately — after spending time in London and LA over the past two weeks, she was in NYC yesterday grabbing lunch with fellow Brit Hugh Dancy. Her reputation took a big hit recently, which isn't getting any sympathy points from you — or, apparently, from her biggest fan site, which is on its way to shutting itself down thanks to her recent behavior. Can't be fun for Sienna to hear, but at least it looks like some of her friendships are still intact.
After months away from work, Isla Fisher is back shooting a new romantic comedy, but this time she's juggling another role - motherhood. The actress was spotted totting around her daughter Olive between takes of her upcoming film Confessions of a Shopaholic, which she is currently filming in New York. The film, which also stars Hugh Dancy, is an adaptation of Sophie Kinsella's novel series about a compulsive shopper in serious debt who becomes a financial advice columnist
Glamour's Women of the Year 2007 came together at NYC's Lincoln Center last night to celebrate each other. Jennifer Connelly's dress was a fabulous color while the first ever Girl of the Year, Abigail Breslin's looked perfectly appropriate. Mariah performed for the big event while some of TV's finest doctors, Taye and Eric Dane (and Chief), were among the men out to honor all these fabulous ladies. The issue's cover girl Jennifer Garner celebrated her night off from Broadway and pulled off a dress that most women could not, but didn't walk the red carpet with Ben. In the magazine Jennifer talks about why that is. She said:
We’ve worked really hard not to be one of those couples who are constantly in the limelight. In the past we’ve both been the kind of people who go along with things—if you’re supposed to be photographed together, you don’t question it. But how does that help your relationship? So now we refuse to walk the red carpet together: It’s a way of not condoning the attention. Plus, it just feels silly to be in that situation with him: Ben was nominated for a Golden Globe [for 2006’s Hollywoodland]. I remember being photographed next to him and thinking, This is ridiculous. You’re not some actor; you’re my husband.
While I fully appreciate her persepective, I can admit that I would love to see them walk together every once in a while. Even (or as it turns out, especially) without, they're certainly one of the cutest and most real marriages in Hollywood. A big big congrats to all the wonderful and inspiring women both winning the honors and attending the event last night. Claps, claps.
To see all the other attendees from the event, including an adorably dressed Abigail Breslin, Brooke Shields, Keri Washington, Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Diane Sawyer, Rashida Jones, Portia de Rossi and many many more just
Claire Danes made her big Broadway debut last night at the opening of Pygmalion. She had lots of fans in the audience to cheer her on, including her boyfriend Hugh Dancy, plus Zac Posen, Blythe Danner and Chloe Sevigny — not a bad turnout. Unfortunately for Claire, her performance is only getting mixed reviews. On the bright side, this is her first attempt at theater, so maybe she'll get another chance to wow the critics in the future.
Check out Claire looking modest on stage and showing off her sexy backless dress at the after party. Plus, there are lots more pics from opening night including Rosie Perez, Mamie Gummer and Eric Murdoch so just
Claire and her cute boyfriend Hugh Dancy looked like they were enjoying themselves on their way into the Soho Apple store on Monday. Unfortunately, the couple's on screen debut both didn't do great at the box office or get great reviews -- but at least they look happy together! I wonder if they were so giddy because they were on their way in to snag some iPhones. It is quite fabulous, after all. In case you missed it, Geek's giving away one of the beautiful and coveted iPhones.
Claire was simply glowing at the 2007 Maui Film Festival in Hawaii where she was being honored along with William Hurt with the festival's Navigator Award for their achievements in film. Hawaii seems like the perfect place to have a film festival, we bet it's pretty easy to get your honored guests to come as well! The mini-vacay wasn't lost on Claire who brought along boyfriend Hugh Dancy for some fun in the sun!
Vivian’s (Agnes Bruckner) double life of werewolf by night and chocolate shop assistant by day is difficult enough until she runs into artist Aiden (Hugh Dancy) in Blood & Chocolate (EIV, €24.99) and finds herself on the horns of a dilemma: should she tell him her secret or throw him to the wolves?
CLAIRE Danes and Hugh Dancy are still an item. The two, who met last year on the set of "Evening," were very much together at Monday night's Cinema Society premiere of the flick with co-stars Vanessa Redgrave, Patrick Wilson, Mamie Gummer, Eileen...
Joe Connor (Hugh Dancy) has come to teach in Rwanda because he believes he can make a difference. When the school becomes a haven for thousands of Rwandans fleeing the genocide, Joe promises his brightest pupil, Marie, that the UN soldiers will protect her from the hordes of extremist militia baying for blood outside the school.[...] Read more!
Actress Claire Danes isn't wasting time when it comes to her love life - a month after splitting from Billy Crudup she's found a new man in British hunk Hugh Dancy.
We used to love Claire Danes. Then that whole weird Billy Crudup thing happened. You know, he was about to have a baby with the fabulous, Mary-Louise Parker and then he left her very pregnant to be with Claire. Well, now they are over and Claire is supposedly with British actor Hugh Dancy. You might remember him from Basic Instinct 2 (Oh right - no one saw that crappy movie). Anyway, evidently he's up and coming and Claire is smitten and doesn't care who knows. The only problem is he might be playing for both teams if you know what I mean. Here's more:
The handsome British actor is "the other man" in the Claire Danes/Billy Crudup breakup - although some might be surprised he hooked up with her and not him.
An eyewitness says Danes and Dancy got together Nov. 2, a month before the split with Billy.
According to the source, they shared a bed "with the door two feet ajar, and everybody listening" in his suite at the swanky hotel where the cast was staying while filming "Evening" in Newport, R.I.
But horny Hugh didn't limit his attention to the ladies.
"The cast was pretty much drunk every night," says the snitch. "Hugh also made out with [screenwriter] Michael Cunningham in the lobby."
Plus, he was seen snogging the gay hotel manager, who lost his job.
The problem with dating a bisexual is that you have twice as many people to compete with. As for Claire, maybe she should lay low for a while. We want to root for her again, but we haven't had many reasons to want to recently.
