While the Golden Globes show is canceled this year, last night's Critics' Choice Awards brought out some A-Listers in LA. The stars all looked great on the red carpet and inside got down to honoring each other. The writers' strike was the topic of the night, but there were still some light hearted moments up on stage. Katie Holmes looked fabulous (in her toga) giving out an award while Angelina and Brad were ever the popular kids fielding visits at their table from Clooney/Queen Latifah and Casey Affleck. Javier really ran away with the show at the end up three times in a row to accept for himself, the Coens and the movie. He got in an anti-Bush jab, but his real acceptance speech was totally sweet. Julianne Moore and Maggie Gyllenhaal looked beautiful in all black. Maggie's hair was my favorite part of her look with those great wavy curls. Cuba Gooding Jr. offered some refreshing yin to troubled Hollywood's yang last week, living up to his do-good name and managing to play real-life hero on the streets of Tinseltown.
While picking up a Memorial Day dinner for his family at the Hollywood branch of Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n' Waffles, the Oscar-winning actor came to the rescue of an apparent gunshot victim.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to E! Online that the 39-year-old "Jerry Maguire" star was sitting in his car outside the restaurant when he heard several gunshots go off.
Gooding then saw a young man walking toward him, clutching his head and profusely bleeding from the neck due to an apparent gunshot wound. As Gooding began to approach the 20-year-old to ask if he needed help, the victim collapsed on the street.

Award show season is in full swing and at Friday night's 12th annual Critics' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, Little Miss Sunshine and Dreamgirls were the big winners. Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr. can once again lay exclusive claim to the phrase, "Show me the money."
ABC canceled its William Shatner-hosted game show by the same name and yanked it from the schedule immediately, replacing it with America's Funniest Home Videos.
The network initially said it planned to air the seven remaining episodes that it had already completed, but later decided to shelve them instead.
The cancellation comes after ABC announced earlier this month that it had ordered six additional episodes of the low-rated show.
