Brooke Shields has been busy hitting up Fashion Week and promoting Lipstick Jungle, but she found the time to get fun, flirty, and a little sporty to do a photoshoot for Parade Magazine. In this week's issue, Brooke gets into the Super Bowl spirit but she's still looking as girly as ever. Brooke still feels young at heart, and in the article she talks about growing up after making her mark as one of Hollywood's most famous PYTs. Here are highlights:
On aging: “I’ll tell you what’s really scary. I have to film a nude scene tomorrow. I don’t want to use a body double, but I’m definitely going to get a spray tan right after lunch!"
On feeling young: “It’s so odd. In Hollywood, I was always the youngest person, and now I’m not. I’m just coming to terms with it. My husband [screenwriter Chris Henchy] laughs at me. Sometimes I’ll read a part and identify with the material, and I’ll say, ‘Oh, honey, I really like this.’ He’ll look at me like I’m crazy and ask, ‘What’s wrong with you? You’re not in your 20s. You seriously think you can walk in there and get this role? It’s going to a 24-year-old.’ “So much of my success in the past was based on my looks. It didn’t feel like it had anything to do with me. I wasn’t exactly doing The Seagull or Anne Frank. The ceiling was pretty low for me, and I went along with it. But being famous for having eyebrows seemed silly to me even then.”
On life in general: “I’m really proud of my kids, I’m excited about my job, and my marriage is not suffering. It’s not easy, but it’s not falling apart. This is the first time in my life that everything is exactly the way I want it to be.”
Love that Brooke is still feeling like a 20-something, even though we think she has nothing to worry about as far as aging goes. Plus, with her brand new show, Brooke can make her mark on Hollywood all over again.
