The women at the Independent Spirit Awards looked beautiful but kept things more casual with their shorter dresses for the afternoon event. Anne Hathaway shined in her off-white dress with feminine details as many other actresses showed off their flirty styles. Cameron Diaz rocked the stripes, as did Michelle Williams in her sleeveless dress with pockets. Mary-Kate stood out with her shoulder pads and long sleeves and the award-winning Penelope Cruz - who had a run in with ex Tom Cruise the night before - look perfect in a frilly hemmed brown dress.
Meanwhile, the men ranged from jeans to suits, but still looked handsome as usual. James Franco didn't manage to shave for the event but wore his pinstripes proudly. Aaron Eckhart, Emile Hirsch and Blair Underwood sported the denim look while Mickey Rourke had fun running around the blue carpet chatting with everyone. Make sure to check out all of Buzz, Fab and Bella's coverage of an event that many of Hollywood's finest came out to see.

Men of all ages wore basic black and white last night at the Oscars. The biggest decision was bowtie or long tie, unless we're talking about Mickey Rourke who stood out in his bright white suit, proving once again he is doing things his way. Brad added more facial hair, upgrading his mustache to full-on goatee. Robert Downey Jr. was clean-shaven and looking adorably young.
The younger crowd mixed up their hairstyles where Zac slicked his back while Robert Pattinson went spiky. They both kept a straight face while James Franco and Dev Patel were all smiles. Many of these men had their beautiful girlfriends or wives by their side, which could explain some of their big grins. The ladies may steal the show year after year, but the Oscars wouldn't be the same without a little manjoyment out on the red carpet.

This past week the award season kicked off and on Friday AFI joined in on the mix. They pick their top 10 movies and TV shows of 2008 which include Benjamin Button, Milk, Dark Knight, Mad Men, Lost and The Wire. Emile Hirsch was there to continue to show off his not-so-hot mustache while the ladies from Mad Men, January Jones and Christina Hendricks, kept their classic style off screen as well. Taraji Henson looked beautiful as she represented the Button cast. We're looking forward to more award show excitement tonight so come back later for lots of red carpet fun.

Courteney Cox and Lauren Conrad brought along their guys David Arquette and Kyle Howard to a launch party for the video game Fallout 3 in LA last night. Love must have been in the air, as Lauren and Kyle got kissy on the dance floor after spending their day together at the beach while Winona Ryder received some love from the event's promoter, Josh Richman. It wasn't all about romance, however, as stars like Nick Lachey, Mischa Barton, Emile Hirsch were all rolling solo to get their first taste of the new game, enjoy the live music and party the LA night away.

The stars of Speed Racer had a bit of inclement weather to deal with on the red carpet at the movie's London premiere, but that didn't keep the smiles off their faces. Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, and Christina Ricci did their best to stay dry with the help of an umbrella or twelve. Meanwhile, little Rocco Ritchie looked like he would've preferred to stay dry inside, but we give the family credit for braving the storm and reminding us all to buy Madonna's new album.

Esquire honored its favorite performances of 2007 — Denzel Washington, Cate Blanchett, Javier Bardem, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Emile Hirsch — with two different cute covers for their December issue. Looks like the six had a lot of fun goofing around during their shoot, especially Jakey G and Robert. The magazine has short blurbs about each of their picks, though we're most impressed with Cate being the only woman in the group. She was chosen for playing a man, however, as the stand out Bob Dylan in I'm Not There. Unfortunately beyond Cate, Buzz didn't love the movie — check out her review here.

Elle celebrated its Women in Hollywood issue with a big party in LA last night. Scarlett, the issue's cover girl, stood out in her black dress and blue accents. Are you loving her look, or is her blonde on blonde too much? Kate, Jennifer and Amy Adams were also among the issue's honored Women of Hollywood ??? and were all stunning at last night's party. Especially loving Jennifer's little pocketed tunic dress. Jessica looked flirty and sexy in her zip up dress, while Alyson's was a little too severe. Ali looks to have shocked onlookers in her plaid (yes, plaid) dress. Hey, only one more week until Kristen Bell's premiere on Heroes! All I gotta say is Topher and Emile were two very, very lucky guys to be at a party with all these gorgeous (and smart and funny and accomplished) ladies.

While TRL often holds court for an interesting array of musicians/actors/reality TV stars, yesterday's trio of Kid Rock, Emile Hirsch & Eva Mendes has to be on the odder side. For Kid Rock, on the other hand, this was just another stop performing on his Pamela Anderson Feud Tour '07Rock n Roll Jesus promotional tour. It's that time of year again! Sundance Film Festival kicked off this weekend which means all of your favorite indie (and not so indie) actors all got bundled up and headed to Park City, Utah. They will spend their time watching great films, doing some interviews, maybe get some skiing in, and oh yeah get a ton of free stuff while partying all night long. As usual, the young Hollywood crowd came out for the Motorola Late Night Lounge. It was such a pleasure to see some of our favorite boys like Scott Speedman and Adam Brody. Tara Reid was also there continuing to not look drunk or trashy which we love. The way she's looking now, she actually might have a shot with some of these hotties. As for the movies, check out more about the comedies here.

Justin may be single now, but he sure didn't look sad walking down the red carpet solo to show off his latest project. Last night JT attended the premiere of his new movie Alpha Dog in LA. It's a film about the kidnap and murder of a Southern California teenager that actually did happen, and now the real life drama may cause the film's January 12th release to be delayed. Here's more:
Despite having the characters' names changed, Hollywood is shown in a bad light throughout the film, attorney James Blatt said, and a jury pool could be tainted, infringing on Hollywood's right to a fair trial.
Universal Studios argued that prohibiting the public from seeing the movie would violate the First Amendment.
Last month, a federal judge refused to stop the film's release but Hollywood appealed the decision. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to rule in the coming days.
"Alpha Dog" is based on the kidnapping and slaying of 15-year-old Nicholas Markowitz seven years ago. Prosecutors believe Hollywood, portrayed in the movie by Emile Hirsch, was the mastermind behind the murder plot. The teen's body was later found in a remote Santa Barbara County camping area.
Markowitz was killed as part of a feud Hollywood had with the victim's older half brother over a $1,200 drug debt, prosecutors said. Four others have been convicted in connection with the murder.
A federal judge in Los Angeles has smacked down a petition by Jesse James Hollywood to halt the release of Universal's "Alpha Dog," arguing that the First Amendment outweighs the possibility that the movie may unduly taint the jury pool in his upcoming murder trial.
In Wednesday's ruling, U.S. District Judge Gary Klausner argued against an injunction preventing the true crime-inspired drama starring Justin Timberlake, Emile Hirsch, and Bruce Willis from unspooling as planned in mid-January, citing court precedents that protect the filmmakers' freedom of speech rights. He also noted that the request to bar the movie (and J.T.'s sexy back) from showing on the big screen did not rise to the standards justifying the suspension of those constitutional rights.
Hollywood's attorney, James Blatt, told E! Online he will appeal the judge's decision, saying it could jeopardize his client's right to a fair trial.
Oscar winners William Hurt and Marcia Gay Harden recently signed on to co-star in the movie. Emile Hirsch, Vince Vaughn and Catherine Keener were already aboard, reports the Hollywood Reporter....
